Dietitian educates kids and families on PAK Nutrition component - including lessons on Go, SLow Whoa Foods, Portion Sizes, Label Reading and More! Day: Fridays ONLY from 5:20 - 6:00 PM Time: 16 hours total over 8 weeks (9 hours of onsite nutrition education and 6 hours administration management, prep and supply shopping.)Location: Niles / Park Ridge, IL (at Gemini Jr High School)
OVERVIEW The Dietitian executes the nutrition segment of the PAK PLAN on Fridays during the 8 week PAK session. This person will be dedicated to delivering a consistent and proven, integrated health plan for overweight children.
They will teach 8 different nutrition lessons to children and their families with the intent of educating them on how to live a healthier lifestyle. Changing behaviors is a difficult job and the dietitian must be effective at discussing all elements of food as it relates to overall health and wellness.
The dietitian also purchases the snack each friday which is reimbursed. The dietitian role occurs on Fridays from 440-520 over 8 weeks. There are also hours allocated for snack purchase, prep, and other admin duties. This is NOT a full time job.
The Dietitian will: •Execute PAK nutrition segment (lessons and all associated handouts) on Friday (440-520 pm), for the 8 week session •Lead the nutrition segment of the program for kids providing guidance and encouragement •Purchase food needed for Friday nutrition lessons (expensed through PAK) •Educate kids and families on core PAK Nutrition principles using PAK
NUTRITION curriculum •Equip participants with the tools needed for sustainable success in nutritional decision making•Handle any severe issues/pressures directly with parents and escalate issues accordingly •Run a disciplined, open classroom-style platform for which participants feel comfortable sharing information in an welcoming, non-threatening environment •Engage designated “Focus Families” onsite as well as offsite through phone calls, emails, social networking,etc. •Post relevant content, tips and information to PAK Facebook site as PAK Dietitian •Act as a knowledgeable, supportive nutrition expert •Guarantee a friendly and inviting environment to maximize participant experience
